UoN Vice Chancellor, Prof Stephen Kiama hosts a delegation from Trent University (Canada) at the Wangari Maathai Institute

The UoN Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama chaired a meeting at the Wangari Maathai Institute for Peace and Environmental Studies (WMI) on Tuesday 14 January, 2020. He was meeting a high-powered delegation from Trent University (Canada). This follows a visit to the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences last year by the Vice Chancellor of Trent University. The purpose of the visit was to explore potential areas of collaboration between the two Universities. The Canadian delegation was led by Prof. Neil Emery (Vice-President Research and Innovation).

Visit by students from Linnankoski Upper Secondary School (Porvoo, Finland)

Thirteen Students from Linnankoski Upper Secondary School (Porvoo, Finland), accompanied by three teachers and Prof. Petri Pellica, visited the Wangari Maathai Institute for Peace and Environmental Studies on January 10, 2020. They wanted to learn about climate change in Kenya, its causes and impacts on migration, food security and health.

Visit by delegation from the University of West Indies

The Wangari Maathai Institute for Peace and Environmental Studies (WMI) received a strong delegation from the University of West Indies led by Prof. Eudine Barriteau, Pro Vice-Chancellor, University of West Indies, Barbados on January 9, 2020. The delegation was accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education and the Dirctor, Corporate Affairs, University of Nairobi. They had come to the Institute to explore areas of Research and Education collaboration.
