Prof Gideon Nyamasyo Donates Books to the Wangari Maathai Institute Library

Prof. Nyamasyo today donated several books with different environmental themes to the Institute’s library. He retired in June 2020 from the School of Biological Sciences, University of Nairobi. Prof. Nyamasyo has been lecturing at the Wangari Maathai Institute (WMI) since 2013. He taught Integrated Natural Resource Management and Integrated Environmental Management to our M.Sc. and PhD students, respectively. He also supervised several WMI Masters and PhD students since 2013.

On behalf of the Faculty and staff of the WMI, the Director thanked Prof. Nyamasyo for his dedicated service and the kind gesture of donating books to the Institute Library. The Director, WMI, indicated that the Institute will continue to engage Prof. Nyamasyo in research and his participation in webinars organized by the Institute and its partners. We wish him well in his retirement.

On his part, Prof. Nyamasyo thanked WMI for according him the opportunity to participate in the Institute’s programs by teaching and supervising its postgraduate students. He appealed to the Institute to maintain the spirit of the late Prof. Wangari Maathai at the highest level. He also challenged the Institute to work towards reaching the heights which Prof. Wangari Maathai envisioned.
