We at the Wangari Maathai Institute offer our heartfelt congratulations to Wanjira Maathai on this appointment. It makes us proud to see one of our Board Members get recognition from such a premier global organization whose mandate strongly complements what the late Professor Wangari Maathai worked and stood for, and the agenda that one of her legacy projects, the Wangari Maathai Institute for Peace and Environmental Studies is engaged in. We look forward to working with Wanjira in her new role.
