Florence Nyole is a qualified architect in Nairobi pursuing her Master of Architecture in Environmental Design and Sustainability at the Department of Architecture and Building Science at the University of Nairobi. She holds a first class honors degree in Bachelor of Architecture & Bachelor of Architectural Studies from the same department and a Diploma in Business Information Technology from Strathmore University. She is a recipient of the Ajas Mellbye Architects + Wangari Maathai Institute Scholarship and the 2003 James Finlays Public University Scholarship. She has a passion for environmental sustainability in architecture and has worked with notable Architect & Environmental Design Consultant, Musau Kimeu in the LRC project at the Catholic University. Florence keeps up-to-date with current activities in the profession and is a regular attendant to seminars and conventions organized by the Architectural Association of Kenya. She has received academic awards and participated in several architectural competitions and exhibitions. Her research involves the use of construction technology to enhance the living environment and ensure minimal disturbance to the ecology. Her interests include arts & theatre performances, travel, cuisine, technology, sports, charity and agriculture. Her current career objective is an aspiration to learn from all possible opportunities, to participate positively in both the professional and academic fields of architecture and especially in environmental design in order to gain practical architectural experience by performing her duties with diligence, excellence and integrity in order to create a credible leader within her sphere of influence. |
