Without key partners the Wangari Maathai Institute cannot fulfill its ambitious vision of, “Excellence in experiential learning, transformational community outreach, and research for sustainable environments and cultures of peace.” Partnerships are important to create a critical mass, synergies and stretch scarce resources in a networked society. And to achieve planned results and targets and to leverage resources, the Institute continues to forge strategic alliances with the public, private and international partners in implementing its mandate. The Institute held a meeting with the Environment Institute of Kenya to discuss potential partnership in research, capacity building, and awareness creation among other activities. This meeting was held at the Wangari Maathai Institute offices on March 27, 2017.
