Hon. William Samoei Ruto, Deputy Vice President of the Republic of Kenya.
Hon. William Samoei Ruto holds a Master of Science degree in Botany from the University of Nairobi and graduated in 2011 and also a BSc degree in Botany from the same University. He is currently pursuing Doctoral studies in the same field.
William Kipchirchir Samoei arap Ruto is the first Deputy President of Kenya. He was sworn in on 9 April 2013. William Ruto has been Member of Parliament for the Eldoret North Constituency since 1997. He is a former Minister for Ministry for Higher Education, Science & Technology and current party leader of URP.
Prof. Judi Wakhungu, Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Environment, Water and Natural Resources.
Prof. Judi Wakhungu holds a PhD in Energy Resource Management (1993) from Penn State University; an MSc in Petroleum Geology (1986) from Acadia University, Nova Scotia, Canada and a BSc in Geology (1983) from St. Lawrence University, New York. She has over 20 years research and teaching experience in the areas of Energy Policy & Development; Science, Technology, Public Policy & Development; and Gender issues in Science & Technology Policy.
Prof. Judi is currently the Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Environment, Water and Natural Resources, Executive Director of the African Centre for Technology Studies, Energy Advisor to the Energy Sector Management Program Program of World Bank and Advisor at the Legatum Centre at MIT, a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of UNESCO’s Social Transformation Programme.
Hon. Martha Karua
Hon. Martha Karua is a holder of MBA degree (2011) from United States International University (USIU). She studied Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at the University of Nairobi from 1977 to 1980. Between 1980 and 1981 she was enrolled at the Kenya School of Law for the statutory post graduate law course that is a prerequisite to admission to the Kenyan roll of advocates and licensing to practice law in Kenya. She then joined the public service, and worked as a magistrate from 1981 to 1987. From 1987 to 2002 she worked in private practice as an advocate.
Karua is still a prominent national politician. Until 6 April 2009 she was the Minister of Justice, National Cohesion & Constitutional Affairs. She also previously served as the Minister of Water Resources Management & Development, and was behind the implementation of the Water Act 2002, which has since then accelerated the pace of water reforms and service provision in Kenya.
